The Court reserves the right to change the starting time of one or more of the hearings to a time in the morning of 7/13/2020 if necessary for scheduling purposes. The Court advises that the sentencing hearings must proceed on that date because each Chicago judge hearing cases in Rockford has been assigned specific dates on which the judge may hear cases in Rockford for the foreseeable future. The case is set for a telephone status hearing on 6/30/2020 at 9:30 AM to discuss the sequence of the sentencing hearings as well as procedural matters. Because only scheduling will be discussed, the appearance of the defendants is waived for the status hearing, and the Court will not be arranging interpreters for the status hearing. The following call-in number will be used for the status hearing: 888-684-8852, access code 746-1053. Each sentencing hearing will presumptively be held in person, in open court, particularly given the need for an interpreter for most of the defendants. If a particular defendant consents to proceeding by video conference, the Court is willing to discuss this at the 6/30/2020 status hearing, but counsel would have to have a solution for the logistical issues involved in having the defendant in a different location from the interpreter. The Clerk's office is directed to arrange interpreters for 7/13/2020, a date on which the Court has been advised (see dkt. no. 272) that the necessary interpreters are available. The government is directed to initiate this coordination with the Clerk's office. Finally, the Court notes that defendant DD61DA0 sentencing memorandum has not been filed and is overdue.
