The Court entered an order appointing Mr. Marshall as guardian ad litem. Ms. Vargas tells the Court why the agreed settlement should be accepted. Ms. Markel and the plaintiff, K.M. agree with the proposed settlement. Mr. Cales indicates to the Court that all are in agreement. The Court enters the order. Court is adjourned. Minute Entry for Telephone Conference held 12/14/11 before Magistrate Judge Douglas E. Miller. Mary Vargas and Raymond Marshall for the Plaintiffs and James Cales for the Defendant. Angela Routh, Clerks Office supervisor, present. The matter came before the court regarding qualified American Sign Language interpreters for the settlement conference scheduled 12/19/11.Comments of the Court. The Chief judge has agreed to one interpreter to provide services. Ms. Vargas states that Plaintiffs are willing to go forward with one interpreter provided the interpreter is qualified. Mr. Cales has information for a sign language interpreting firm in Richmond which he provided to Ms. Routh. The Court inquires about real-time reporting in addition to the sign language interpreter. Plaintiffs are agreeable to having both. The Court states it will pay for one sign language interpreter and make arrangements for a real-time court reporter to assist with the proceedings on 12/19/11.
