   USOR Site PRP Group filed a CERCLA cost recovery action in August 2014 in the Southern District of Texas against A&M Contractors Inc. and hundreds of other companies including AAA Cooper Transportation, ABB Inc., and numerous other industrial, construction, and service firms, alleging their contribution to contamination at the US Oil Recovery (USOR) Superfund site in Pasadena, Texas. The PRP group — companies that had already been named as potentially responsible parties and incurred cleanup costs — sought contribution from hundreds of additional parties that had disposed of waste at the site. The litigation moved quickly: numerous notices of dismissal were filed immediately after the complaint, as defendants resolved their liability through the settlement process that is common in CERCLA PRP group contribution actions. Dozens of orders of dismissal were entered in August and September 2014 as individual defendants settled. The USOR site was a used oil recycling facility that accepted hazardous waste.

   Robert Cantley filed this asbestos personal injury action in January 2006 in San Francisco Superior Court against a long list of asbestos defendants as reflected on attached exhibits in case CGC-06-448821 before Judge Everett Hewlett. Multiple defendant companies filed answers in late February through early March 2006, represented by various defense firms including Haight Brown & Bonesteel and Sack Miller and Rosendin LLP. This is a standard asbestos mesothelioma or asbestosis case filed in the San Francisco asbestos litigation program, which handles hundreds of such cases.
